Ellis Valentine is a former Major League Baseball outfielder best known for his time with the Montreal Expos in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Valentine was known for his cannon-like arm in right field and a potent bat.

After an All-Star season in 1977, his breakout came in 1978, when he hit 22 home runs, drove in 80 RBIs, hit .293, and earned a Golden Glove for his defensive play.

Despite being traded to the New York Mets in 1982, Valentine left a lasting legacy in Montreal, where he remains a cherished figure among fans. He returns to Montreal on a regular basis, supporting multiple charitable causes.
